93 points Wine Spectator:  “A handsome red, refined yet stylish, with polished blackberry, olive and dusky spice flavors that build tension toward fine-grained tannins. Drink now through 2030.”

Columbia Valley vineyards grow Merlot that gives Washington winemakers a reason to smile. With the grapes our winemaker uses from the state’s top vineyards,

Januik consistently turns out Merlot with that WOW-factor that leaves wine drinkers smiling. A blend of 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon which includes grapes from Klipsun, Ciel du Cheval, and Weinbau vineyards. Raspberry, vanilla and spice notes fill the glass. The finish is long and lush.

Hedges Family Estate, Descenants Liegeois Dupont, Syrah, Les Glosses Vineyard, Red Mountain AVA, 2016 Winemaker Notes: A stellar Syrah. A wonderful balance of sweet and savory, fruity and smoky.

There is a hint of tart reddish blue fruits, some graphite, toasted spices, crushed graham cracker and rosemary shortbread. Flavors of toasted spice and blueberry muffin are lifted into your mouth with a bright acidity and then they linger on your palate with a long and balanced finish. This wine is refined and worldly, but with a distinct sense of place.

Tasting Notes: With distinctive aromatics, spanning from white floral to pink peppercorn, this dry Chenin is vivid and lively. In the mouth, flavors burst forward with magnolia, Meyer lemon skin, and citrus custard, offset by a remarkable note of salinity. The wine is snappy and interesting, carrying through to a flavorful and persistent finish.

Crafting a white Bordeaux-style blend was unheard of in Washington when the winery first created Chaleur Blanc. A blend of Sauvignon Blanc & Sémillon, this wine is fermented sur lie in French oak barrels, imparting a memorable “crème brulee” finish.

Served at the White House over three administrations & rivaling its French counterparts in quality & exceptional value, Chaleur Blanc has become one of the winery’s most influential blends.
